How to Be Your Own BFF
The Power of Positive Self-Talk
A story-based workshop where kids learn what self-talk is, how it shapes how they feel, and how to make theirs kinder — while connecting with a few other homeschooled kids their age.
Reserve Your Child’s SpotTuesday, 15 September · 10:00am–12:00pm PST · Online · Just 4 spots
You might be here because your child…
- Has been talking negatively about themselves lately
- Could use a little help building their confidence
- Feels shy or nervous in new situations
- Gets embarrassed easily
What makes this different
We use a proven story-based curriculum from Adventures in Wisdom, so your child learns through a character’s journey rather than being told what to think. It’s a gentle way in — even for children who find it hard to talk about their own inner voice directly. And because this is just for homeschoolers, it’s also a warm, low-pressure chance for your child to meet a few other homeschooled kids their age.
What Is Self-Talk?
Understanding the voice inside our heads, and noticing when it’s there.
How It Affects Us
Exploring how the things we say to ourselves shape how we feel and act.
Catching the Unkind Voice
Learning to notice negative self-talk without judgement, as a first gentle step.
The Power Shift
Stepping into their power to shift the negative voice into a kinder one.
A safe, protected space
- Just 4 children, so every child is seen and heard
- No recording, no photos — what’s shared stays in the group
- Sharing personal experiences is always welcome, never required
- Parents are welcome to sit in — though if you think your child may hold back or feel less open with you present, it’s best to step away and get a debrief from them afterwards. You’ll also receive an update by email either way.
Every child makes their own Confidence Mirror
Ahead of the workshop, we’ll mail your child a mirror-making kit. During our time together, they’ll decorate it and use it for a live “mirror mantra” activity — then keep it at home to practise positive self-talk daily.
Workshop details
Spaces are limited to 4 children to protect the small-group feel.
Registration closes early so there’s time to mail every child their Confidence Mirror kit before the workshop — it’s part of a live activity, so it needs to arrive in advance. Once you register, you’ll receive an invoice by email — payable by card or Zelle.
